View Chatlog & Chat thread Id

Every response an assistant gives has its own ID, and every conversation (chat thread) has one too. These IDs let you point to one exact answer or conversation, so administrators and support can find it right away.

Use cases#

Reporting a wrong answer: An assistant gives you an outdated policy answer. Instead of describing it in a long message, copy the response's ID and send it to your administrator. It matches the Id of that chatlog on the Chatlogs page, so they can open it right away and fix the source.
Reporting a whole conversation: If the problem builds up over several messages, send the Chat ID instead, so your administrator can review the full conversation.

1. Ask a question#

Open a chat with an assistant, type your question, and send it.

2. See the response ID#

Below the response, click the three dots (More actions), then click Copy response ID. The ID is copied, so you can paste it in a message.

3. Open your chat history#

At the top right of the chat, click the Chats and files icon. The panel opens on the Chats tab with your conversations.

4. See the Chat ID#

Hover over the conversation and click the three dots next to its name. The bottom of the menu shows its Chat ID.
