Every document in a corpus has a unique Document ID. You won't need it for everyday use, but it becomes essential as soon as you work with Ejento AI beyond the app.Why the Document ID matters#
Names can repeat and change. Two corpora can each hold a file called "Policy.pdf", but each file has its own Document ID. That makes the ID the reliable way to point at exactly one document.Use cases#
Fixing an outdated answer: An assistant keeps quoting an old refund window. Find the outdated document in the corpus, copy its Document ID, and include it in your support ticket, so there's no back-and-forth about which "Return Policy" file you mean.Failed indexing: If a document fails to index, send its Document ID to your administrator or support so they can check that exact file.Tracking versions: Record the Document IDs of files you replace, to keep track of which version an assistant used.
1. Open the document#
Open your corpus, and on the Documents tab, click the document you need. Use the search box or the Docs, Links, and Text filters to find it quickly.2. Copy the Document ID#
The document panel shows the DOCUMENT ID at the top. Click the copy icon next to it to copy the ID to your clipboard. The same panel shows the document's TAGS, when it was LAST UPDATED, and a preview of its content. Use the icons at the top right to preview it full screen, open it in a new tab, download it, or copy a link to it.
